Luton Airport Parking - Short Stay, Long Stay

Airport Parking Directory - Airport Hotels

Luton is the seventh largest airport in the United Kingdom and handles close to 8 million passengers each year. Luton airport's expansion prompted the building of a second terminal in 1999 and the existing terminal was given a refit the following year. Today the airport has the capacity to handle 28 flights per hour and is connected to more than 70 worldwide destinations. It's also home to two of the UK's best loved (and most successful) charter airlines: Monarch Airlines and Britannia Airways, as well as the no-frills giant easyjet.

In terms of airport parking Luton has been in a position to learn from mistakes made by other airports, and consequently has plenty of different options. People driving from London should be able to make the 30 mile journey in less than an hour, while non-drivers will be able to take advantage of the sparkling new £23 million London Luton Airport Parkway rail link.

Because Luton has ample parking provision the chances are that you will find a space if you simply turn up. However, if you book in advance you'll get a considerably better rate and have the peace of mind of a guaranteed slot. Luton's Express Parking caters for short stay visitors and executive travellers. From the Express Parking it's a short walk to the terminal buildings (via a covered walkway). Payments can be made with cash or plastic at machines located within the car park.

Anyone leaving their car for more than five hours will find that it makes financial sense to head for the Mid Term Parking. Follow the green signposts, park your vehicle and you'll then need to jump on one of the shuttle buses for the final leg of the journey. Long Term Parking is recommended for stays of five days or more (keep an eye open for the pink signs). Once inside the compound you simply find a space and then join the queue for the courtesy coach. Returning buses depart from Bay No. 2 outside the terminal buildings. Pre-booking at Luton's Long Term Parking is a good idea as it will save you a minimum of £10.00 and is likely to save you substantially more.

All the facilities at Luton's Long Stay car park have been designed with disabled visitors in mind.

Note that while vehicle security at the car parks surrounding Luton airport is generally very good, standards inevitably vary. To make sure that your car will be safe on your return visit the FAQ section of your chosen car park's web pages. Besides sturdy gating you should expect continual CCTV monitoring and regular foot patrols. A number of car parks also provide courtesy vehicle cover. However, perhaps the best precaution is to ensure that all belonging are kept out of sight.
