Cyprus AirportsThere are three international airports in Cyprus located in Larnaca, Paphos and the capital Nicosia.
Larnaca International Airport is Cyprus’ main gateway and largest airport. It has recently been upgraded with more expansion planned for the future. With approximately 50 airlines servicing the area, the airport’s upgrades have been long needed, so it is now a much smoother operation. Once you arrive at Larnaca Airport there are a few options for getting into the city or to your next destination. There are taxis, car rentals and a shuttle bus systems in place which can offer you transport.
Ercan International Airport was the first airport to be granted the ability to operate direct flights from the UK, as previously flights had to stop-over in Turkey making for an elongated journey for holiday-makers.
The final airport of Cyprus is Paphos International Airport. It is often used to enter the western regions of the Island where popular places such as Coral Bay and Limassol are situated.
Since Cyprus no longer has a railway system, the roads can become quite congested in parts so if travelling in peak hours it can be a good idea to get a set price for taxis rather than using a meter.
