Things to do in Hong Kong – A Guide to Hong Kong City Attractions

Things to do in Hong Kong

While Hong Kong’s centre city is a sleek and trendy epicentre full of bright lights and modern skyscrapers, the outskirt of the city is dotted with parks and bays making it a tourist hotspot. The number of visitors per year has steadily increased with tourist numbers exceeding 25million most years.

For Hong Kong’s many attractions we have created a tourist guide to the top 7 things to do in Hong Kong:

1. The Peak

For incredible views over the city, Victoria Harbour and the spectacular mountain backdrop, visit Victoria Peak by taking the Peak Tram. The Peak Tower is another top landmark to see on this trip while you take the Peak Circle Walk to the Lugard Road Lookout for more remarkable views.

2. Victoria Harbour

One of the most beautiful sights must be the Harbour at night. With the glistening lights and reflections of magnificent skyscrapers you can’t find a more romantic adventure than going for a night cruise.

3. Charter a Boat

With so many islands making up the Hong Kong territory, without a boat it is hard to see beyond the Hong Kong Island. So charter a boat out to see the beautiful coastlines of some of the 200 outer islands. Make sure you travel in summer so you can anchor for a refreshing dip in the water before returning to the bustling city.

4. Temple Street by Night

Like a street straight from Chinatown, under the luminous lanterns and lights you will find the Temple Street Night Market tempting you with many deals from fortune tellers to watch and souvenir merchants. You will find this night market gem in central Kowloon at the crossroads of Temple Street and Jordan Road.

5. Harbour Crossing

Take the Star Ferry across the harbour to experience eight minutes of unrivalled views of the city from the water. If you take the trip just before 8pm you will catch a glimpse of the Symphony of Lights show that sees the Hong Kong Skyline erupt in lights, lasers and fireworks.

6. Hong Kong Disneyland

With four different story themed lands of fantasy and adventure the whole family can enjoy the exciting rides, characters and shows. If you bring the kids to Hong Kong this is a must! See our guide to Hong Kong Disneyland here.

7. Ocean Park

Another favourite is Ocean Park, full of rides and things to do with animal exhibits, roller coasters and even an aquarium! Great for all ages, this is a great day trip for the family.
