Maui's Hotels Overview

Maui's hotels are some of the finest in the world and are dotted throughout this intrepid little island. Although not offering the same extent of privacy as that offered by a condo, hotels have other advantages such as air conditioning, room cleaning services, onsite restaurants and dinning facilities and more. If you are looking for pampering then Maui's hotels are for you!Starting on the West of the Island near Kapalua you have the lovely Kapalua Bay Hotel which has 196 rooms each measuring an impressive 500 square feet in area, room service 24 hours and it also borders on one of the best rated swimming beaches in Maui. The only downside to this gem on the western shore is the weather around Kapalua can be a bit wet at times. You can contact the Kapalua Bay Hotel on 808 669 5656.

A second Kapalua gem is the Ritz Carlton. The word "Ritz" says it all and visitors to this hotel can expect to find the service and quality they would expect to find anywhere else in the world. The only difference is that this particular one is framed by matchless tropical settings. Phone the Ritz Carlton on 808 669 6200.

Moving eastwards we come face to face with the impressive Embassy Vacation Resort with its parrot filled lobby. Complete with fitness centre, salon, pools, and miniature golf course this is one of Maui's finest. Be sure to try out their Moonbeam lounge that serves free cocktails nightly. This is definitely a hotel that is designed for that memorable family vacation. Call the Embassy on 808 661 2000.

Moving down to Kaanapali we find the Sheraton Maui. Sited on 23 acres of manicured landscapes some of the unique features of this hotel include its second to non beach, the scuba experience offered around Black Rock and the amazing torch lighting ceremony that involves the bearer diving off the cliffs at Puu Kekaa. You can telephone the hotel on 808 661 0031.

Other stars amongst Kaanapali hotels are the Maui Marriot and Hyatt Regency. The recently renovated Marriot hotel has a staggering 590 rooms and is home to one of the most impressive pool areas on the island virtual aqua eye candy! The rooms that have been stated as having "deluxe ocean views" are strongly recommended. The Hyatt Regency is even larger with 819 rooms that are distributed between three separate towers that make up the hotel. Wildlife parrots, swans and penguins seem to have found a home around this lovely hotel and help add to the exotic atmosphere. Contact the Marriot on 808 667 1200, and the Regency on 808 661 1234.

Further south but still on the leeward side of the island you will come upon the Fairmont Kea Lani (808 879 4100), and the Four Seasons Resort (808 874 8000). The Fairmont is sometimes described as "different looking" as the architecture makes it resemble something out of Casablanca. After entering its doors though, all first impressions are set aside and replaced with visions of pure opulence. Both suites and villas are offered and have access to the beautiful Polo Beach. The Four Seasons is probably one of the best, if not the best on the island. With an army of professional staff one would even struggle to find a dead leaf on its finely sculpted grounds! With loads of complimentary services and its breathtaking marble bathrooms, it is hard not to be impressed.

The Maui Prince is one of the stars of Wailea's consortium of hotels. Some of its unique features include the stunning Maluaka beach and the regular boat excursions it runs to Molokini Crater. For more information please call 808 874 1111
