Maui's Wailea lies on the southern coastline of the island and is globally one of the most envied resort areas. The accommodations here are world renowned, the beaches in a league of their own, and the settlement itself boasts some splendid dinning places and recreational activities. The area is also combed with golf courses and is home to the infamous Wailea Golf Club which hosts the "LPGA Skins Game." Other unique attractions are the Nissan Xterra World Championships that are held here and the Wailea Film Festival. All these sites and attractions are complimented by the area's good weather and exquisite views of Kahoolawe and Molokini.

But undoubtedly the 1/3 mile long, crescent shaped beach is Wailea's star attraction. Some rankings have even deemed it the "Best Beach in America!" The beach has fine soft sand, protected calm waters, and is surrounded by pleasant scenery. The problem is that a lot of other people are aware of this to, and you will often find there is nowhere to park even the resort parking fills up quick! So we advise getting there early to get your spot! Snorkeling and boogie boarding are the prime activities since the waves are relatively short and quite close to shore.

Undoubtedly the best way to take in the beautiful coastline of Wailea is to walk the 1.5 mile "coastal nature trail" with the sun in your face and the wind in your hair. The best time for this little outing is in the early morning before the beachgoers get moving.

The presence of the resort has done wonders for the shopping in Maui's Wailea. Many internationally known names have flocked to get a spot here including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Cartier get your heels on girls we are going shopping! For the tourist minded shoppers there are also a number of galleries that house work by local artists.

"The Grand Wailea", "The Four Seasons" and "The Grand Champions" are just some of the opulent sources of accommodation available.
