Flights to Goa

Fly to the land of soft sands, palm fringed beaches and exotic nightlife.

Although the airport does receive international flights from Britain, they are often quite expensive and far between. Therefore the easiest way to reach this piece of Indian paradise is by flying into Mumbai then catching a domestic flight from Mumbai to Goa. The sole airport here is Dabolim Airport which started expansions in late February 2009 so there may be some disturbances in the terminals until it is completed.

To get the best and cheapest flights it is recommended to use flight comparison websites that compare different airlines and dates. Two airlines known to service flights from the UK to Goa is Thomson Airways and Monarch Airlines.

Alternatively there are trains and busses that travel from major cities to Goa. There is the overnight Konkan Kanya Express that leaves Mumbai to arrive in Madgaon the next day. If taking the train, it is advisable to pay the extra fee for the air conditioned seats especially in the hotter months. Otherwise there are several of long distance busses.

Once in Goa, there are cars you can organise for transport, or better still, motorcycles and scooters can be hired to easily get around. The only challenge is dodging the road obstacles therefore can be difficult for newbies.
