Accommodation is aplenty in Jaipur with options covering the whole spectrum from budget to luxury. Many palaces have been transformed into hotels so you can expect many to be at the height of luxury. Such places include the Taj Rambagh Palace, the Jai Mahal Palace, the Raj Palace and Narain Niwas Palace. These places are likely to carry a larger price tag than other places, but you will soon realise that you really do get what you pay for.

However for those wanting to save their pennies, there are some decent cheap hotels and guest houses in Jaipur.

Atithi Guest House – between MI and Station Road
This has got to be one of the best budget accommodations with helpful staff, clean and simple rooms in a great location. It has several balconies and a rooftop restaurant to top it off.

Karni Niwas – found behind Hotel Neelam
This budget gem provides a comfortable stay with a quiet environment. They often offer to pick you up from the train or bus station.

The mid range accommodation usually comprises of well presented hotels with moderate facilities.

Dera Rawatsar – Vijay Path, Mahavir Nagar (just off the main drag)
A quiet, well managed hotel with gorgeous courtyards and wonderful homemade Indian food.

Umaid Mahal – Behari Marg, Jai Singh Hwy
Grandly decorated with features such as an indoor pool and rooftop restaurant, this hotel is hard to beat in the mid range. They will pick you up from your train or bus and bring you back to their spotless hotel for a wonderful stay.

And for those willing to spend the pounds for a stay in luxury

Samode Haveli Village Fatehpura Bansa
A top end hotel, once used by the prime minister of Jaipur is the Samode Haveli. It is an exquisite stay perfect for a retreat with your partner. It has large beds, private terraces and gracious decorations creating a truly romantic aura. If you want to stay here but are not prepared to pay the price tag, wait for the months between May and September when prices drop.
