Magaluf Hotels Majorca Mallorca Travel Destinations Spain

Magaluf hoteliers know their clientele and for many tourists visiting Magaluf; accommodation will be down the list of priorities when working out where to spend their holiday cash. Consequently hotels in Magaluf tend towards the functional rather than the fantastic. However, there are some notable exceptions to the rule, including the following five:

1. The four star Flamboyan Caribe is actually a pair of adjoining hotels in Magaluf. They are right beside the beach and have views across the bay: it is worth paying extra for a room with a sea view. The buffet restaurant hosts a weekly gala dinner and men must wear trousers in the restaurant in the evenings. The hotel is situated up a hill so may not be ideal for those with mobility problems. 2. The four star Sol Antillas Barbados is a good, clean pair of hotels (Barbados and Antillas) in an excellent location looking over the bay on the edge of Magaluf. You will be allocated to one of the hotels on arrival, although you can use the facilities in both. They are Flintstones themed you have been warned and there are three pools in total, plus an indoor one at the Antillas which opens in winter. 3. The three star Sol Magaluf Park is another of the well located hotels in Magaluf, just 150 metres from the beach and five minutes' walk to the night life. It is also close to the resort's sports centre. There are 422 rooms here and guests are a mixture of families and young singles. The kids clubs are popular with children (and consequently their parents) and the hotel has its own pub and disco. Avda. P. Vaquer Ramis, tel 971 13 09 50, www.solmelia.comwww.solmelia.com.

4. The three star Iberostar Majorca Beach is right on the beach, and activities available on site include table tennis, volleyball, aerobics and archery. There is a decent array of entertainments for guests, plus a mini club for four to 12 year olds it's one of Magaluf's more family friendly set ups. The hotel also has some self catering apartments with living rooms and kitchenettes. Notario Alemany 1, tel 971 13 10 58, www.iberostar.comwww.iberostar.com.

5. The 160 room Marina Pax is one of the most popular three star hotels in Magaluf and manages to receive praise for the food on its all inclusive deals. And that is rare. Oriented towards the fun end of the market, it is about 500 metres from Magaluf beach, with bars and restaurants even nearer than that.
