Roses Accommodation

Roses has every kind of holiday accommodation with modern hotels ranging from one to five stars, traditional Spanish pensions, campsites and self catering villas and apartments.

One of the resort's most luxurious hotels is the five star Vistabella Hotel overlooking the Gulf of Roses in Avenida Diaz Pacheco. The hotel has 60 rooms and suites and excellent facilities including a fitness centre with sauna, massage room, steam bath and gym. There's a seawater jacuzzi, heated pool and even a mooring for your boat (for the lucky ones able to arrive that way!).

The hotel has a restaurant serving fine Mediterranean cuisine, an Italian restaurant and a grill restaurant by the sea which serves al fresco meals during the summer months.

Another well equipped hotel is the four star Almadrava, on a small hilltop overlooking the beach of the same name. All rooms have a private balcony with sea views and there's direct access to the beach via a private path. The hotel kitchens specialise in high quality fresh seafood dishes; there's also a grill service and bar and restaurant serving the Olympic sized swimming pool.

Sports and leisure activities at the hotel include tennis, squash, a sauna, table tennis, giant chessboard and petanque.

Hotel Terraza is a four star family run hotel on the Passeig Maritim seafront promenade. The hotel has a private beach, heated swimming pool, a gym, lounge with sea views and a restaurant serving good quality international cuisine. All rooms are soundproofed and have air conditioning, a mini bar, satellite TV and safe.

There are numerous one, two and three star hotels in and around the town with facilities and prices to suit all budgets. Roses also has many Spanish "pensiones" or hostals where facilities tend to be more basic but the accommodation is usually clean and comfortable and represents great value for money.

The better hostals have en suite bathrooms and restaurants serving good home cooked local dishes.

If you prefer a self catering holiday, Roses offers various options depending on how much you want to pay. Aparthotels give you the freedom of self catering accommodation combined with the convenience of hotel facilities on your doorstep. The Mar y Sol, in Placa Catalunya, is a four star aparthotel right on the beachfront; or try the three star Don Miguel aparthotel in Carrer Luxemburgo.

Many apartments are let on an individual basis whilst others are within complexes which have good communal facilities such as pools, bars, restaurants, games rooms etc.

Self catering villas are excellent for family holidays, especially if you're travelling with small children for whom hotel rooms can prove a bit confining! Most villas available for let here have private swimming pools and many have their own gardens and sea views. Depending on the quality of the villa, this type of holiday can work out cheaper than a hotel if you're in a large group as you normally pay a set price for the villa rather than paying per person.

There's a holiday village with a good range of accommodation to let at Cala Montjoi, eight kilometres from the town centre. This is the beach where you'll find the world famous El Bulli restaurant (book months in advance and brace yourself for a big bill though great gourmets swear it's worth it).

Roses also has several campsites dotted along the bay. Many have mobile homes and bungalows for rent and provide good facilities including swimming pools, bars, restaurants, laundries and children's playgrounds. Most also organise a full entertainment programme in the summer months.
