Salou Things to Do & Tourist Attractions

There's a wealth of entertainment and leisure activities on your doorstep in Salou so you may not have time to go further afield than the resort itself and the Port Aventura theme park, especially if you're only staying here for a few days. But if you get the chance, try to fit in some day trips and excursions to the many fascinating places of interest in this region.

Besides the night life, restaurants and beaches there is a lot more to offer.

But first let's talk about the many pleasures which await you at the Universal Studios park which is, after all, the main reason why most tourists come here.

A few days is needed to fit everything in and if you spend three days there you won't run out of things to see and do. On the right edge of the resort there is a park. A road train runs to and from it throughout the day.

Dragon Khan is a roller coaster one of Europe's biggest roller coasters with 8, 360 degree loop the loops!!

The park is divided into five themed lands China (where you'll find the Dragon Khan), Polynesia, Mexico, the Mediterranean and the Far West. It's chock a block with thrill rides, water slides, live entertainment, bars, restaurants and shops.

If you're planning to go for more than a day, buy a multi day pass in advance and you'll get a discount. It's also advisable to take your own waterproof gear with you if you don't want to get drenched on the water rides (and stung by the high costs of waterproofs within the park).

Aquopolis water park is less than 10 kilometers away along the costal road in La Pineda. A great full day out for the family.

Golfers may want to leave the rest of the family at Port Aventura while they enjoy a day out at one of the excellent courses in the area. There are 18 hole courses in Reus and Mont roig del Camp and a nine hole Club near Tarragona called the de Costa Dorada.

Going inland from Salou on a discovery trip reveals lots of explorable medieval villages, castles and monasteries.
