History-lovers can stroll around the town, enjoying the cobblestone streets and old churches of this former fishing village. The town plaza attracts music-lovers as well as sight-seers, as free concerts are regularly held there. And don't miss the Mercado Municipal (city market), where you can practice your bartering skills and buy jewellery, leather goods and plenty of handcrafted items.
It's a place that appeals to all ages, too; many seniors buy retirement properties in Puerto Vallarta because of the reliably warm weather, good medical services and good exchange rates.
