Aspen, Colorado has 184km of piste with guaranteed snow during the season. There are more than one hundred and fifty runs in Aspen with the majority of these for intermediate and advanced skiers, leaving the remaining forty-one for beginners. Do not imagine this resort is not good for beginners however, as there are six hundred and seventy five instructors to make sure you are an intermediate or advanced skier very quickly!
The challenges in Aspen are plentiful through the absolutely superb off-piste skiing. The ‘ Ajax’ area of Aspen tires many intermediate skiers out every day, while even very advanced skiers will find the slopes at ‘Snowmass’ extremely steep.
Aspen has forty two lifts, but those looking for a more adventurous method of travel can take advantage of the husky dog sledding available throughout the resort.
Away from the slopes the bars and restaurants offer excellent value for money, with over one hundred restaurants in the resort.
Many ski resorts have a little something which sets them apart from others. In Aspen it is the range of art galleries and museums situated throughout the resort. There are enough to keep any connoisseur of fine art happy!
In terms of accommodation, hotels and apartments are plentiful and of a high standard, but is it the chalets in Aspen that provide the best value for money.

Aspen provides easy access from the airport, and once you arrive at the resort everything else is pretty easy too! Except of course some of the steepest black runs on the planet.
