The 'Jazz' makes a valiant effort at plugging the yawning gap in Barcelona's crop of affordable quality accommodation. The hotel's 108 rooms are eminently reasonably priced between € 100-200, for which you can expect an ensuite bathroom and complimentary broadband internet access.
Located in the hip Golden Triangle (Triángulo de Oro), the hotel is a within easy reach of Barcelona's main sights. Inside the Hotel Jazz is a paean slick modernism; think stripped wooden floors and cool frosted glass. The interior décor might not be everybody's liking, but you'll hear few guests complaining about the rooftop pool (which boasts fantastic views of the city). There's an informal restaurant which does a great line in tapas and let's not forget the eponymous mezzanine bar; curiously devoid of jazz. Breakfast weighs in at an additional €13 per person.
The hotel's ample facilities have earned it three stars, and at just 13km (25 minutes in a taxi) form the airport; the hotel Jazz is ideal for short breaks.
