Stag Weekend Parties in Prague - Online Travel Guide

DIY stag weekend in Prague

So you're planning a stag weekend in Prague for your mates. Well, you're in luck; Prague is known for its fabulously cheap alcohol and plenty of activities to keep your days as full as the nights.

There's plenty to do in Prague after you've had your fill of sightseeing. Take in a brewery tour (complete with beer tasting and hearty Czech food), or perhaps an ice hockey or football match, go clay pigeon shooting, try your hand at go-carting, play laser tag or paintball, go bowling, white-water rafting, or boating on the Vltava River.

Alcohol and a stag weekend in Prague go together perfectly. Home of good beer and the infamous alcohol absinthe, this is the country that began brewing beer in 859 AD. Plzensky Prazdroj (Pilsner Urquel), Gambrinus, Radegast, Budvar (the original Budweiser) and the Prague-brewed Staropramen are the most popular. Expect to pay 40p to £1.40 per half litre. The Czech Republic also sells absinthe, the blue-green alcohol rumoured to cause hallucinations (which might be due to the 74 percent alcohol content). To drink; take a shot glass of absinthe, drop in a sugar cube or teaspoon of sugar and light the concoction on fire. After the sugar melts down, stir and shoot. Yell, Na zdraví! (To your health!)

With loads of strip clubs, peep shows and night clubs, Prague is beginning to get the reputation as the ' Amsterdam of the East.' Remember that prostitution is illegal and socializing with prostitutes is not recommended at the risk of being spiked and relieved of your passport.

There are plenty of nightclubs to dance the night away. Lavka Bar & Club is one of the best places to start, right on the banks of the River Vltava. The music is easy to dance to and the views from the terrace at the club's rear are unimaginable. It is therefore not surprising that this club is open 24 hours. If you want to skip the admission fee, get there before 9pm. For another great clubbing experience, be sure to head to Wenceslas Square for a night at the Duplex Club & Cafe. Mich Jagger celebrated his 60th birthday here so why not experience it for yourself. This place transforms at night into an illuminous club scene. With lounge styled seating and a great dance floor, you have no excuse not to enjoy some of the best DJ's in Prague. The Duplex also offers a roof terrace with great city views. Admission is 300czk and prices match the stature of this club so don't count of cheap drinks!

If it's R&B and hip-hop you are into, definitely check out N11 Music Club & Lounge. N11 is a popular place to go, with several bars and lounges as well as a decent dancefloor with music videos projected on the wall behind the stage. They also have more than 40 different wines on offer as well as Czech and foreign beers on tap.

For a more mature taste in music, check out the many concerts on show at one of the opera houses or concert halls scattered around the city.

For an energetic pub crawl, look no further. The Prague Pub Tour starts with a shot of Absinthe and it only gets better. This is a pub crawl for those wanting a lively night of drinking and dancing. With free shots in each bar and free entry to Karlovy Lazne at the conclusion of the tour, you will come away with not only amazing memories and new friends, but a free t-shirt as well! If the club scene isn't really your cup of tea, but you are keen to taste and experience the amazing Prague pubs, book yourselves on a Prague Pub Tour With Dinner. A local guide will take you through the side streets of the Old Town to the local pubs and will do doubt have some stories to tell. The Czech Republic's beers are famous all around the world, and with three free pints on offer, the choice is easy. The tour also gives you the opportunity to try some of the local traditional food.
